Farewell, California

Well, today’s the day we pull away from what’s quickly become our home here in California. It’s bittersweet–I’m excited to be moving on to another new chapter, but I will sincerely miss this one. I’ve said it over and over, California has bewitched me! It’s like nowhere else I’ve lived. I wish I could set up a live-cam of the nearby vineyards so I would be able to see the vines go from green to gold during Harvest (which I’m so sad to miss) and back to brown during winter as they looked when we arrived last December. I’d like to continue measuring my seasons and years by the vineyards’ appearance :)

Gary and our pup Claire and me are all loaded up in our two cars and have our two-way radios charged and ready to go (the only way to caravan). We have a number of days of driving ahead with a couple of great stops planned and I’m really looking forward to those. California has been good for my soul, and I do believe this is just a farewell.

Awww, my sweet Erin…California seems to be bidding you a fond farewell too :’)
You’ve preserved and shared its vast beauty through your images in what has become a loving tribute to the place you have so loved calling “home”–if only for a brief time. If God loved us so much as to create this as a temporary home, can you even begin to imagine what he and Jesus are creating for us right now for our eternal dwelling place with Them in Heaven??!

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” ~ 1 Cor. 2:8-10
