A Colorado Foothills Wedding | CJ + Kristin

Kristin and CJ are one of the most in-love couples you will ever meet, and being part of their wedding day was a complete joy!  Their day had me remarking on how lucky I am to be a wedding photographer and to be witness to so much love.  Together for 7 years, these two are quite the duo: Kristin recently became a Physician’s Assistant and CJ is in medical school looking to focus in emergency medicine.  Their wedding took place at the Perry Park Country Club just over an hour north of Colorado Springs and up into the foothills.  The location was breathtaking with the ceremony on the lake and portraits all over the property, I was constantly delighted with our surroundings…

Kristen struck me as the consummate Disney princess with her big beautiful eyes, romantic hair and classic gown–don’t you agree?CJ’s uncle presided over the lakeside ceremony.  The couple blended traditional elements with some unique touches of their own including reading their personally written vows to each other (tear jerker) and a symbolic hand fasting ceremony where a length of CJ’s mountain climbing rope was fastened around their clasped hands to represent the new bond being formed as husband and wife.

Notice the rain drops in the photo on the left!  Rain on the wedding day is good luck, it rained on our day in 2008!Kristin and CJ were the most comfortable bride and groom during their ceremony, and it was so evident how elated they were to become Mr. and Mrs. – CJ totally fist-pumped the air after their kiss! The couple got engaged on the top of a mountain and I just loved how the scenery played so well to their adventurous sides.  Is Colorado not amazing?!The light was lovely after their 5pm ceremony. . .

Kristin and CJ, I hope you had the most amazing time in Thailand on your honeymoon–you are so incredibly loved by your friends and family and it was an honor to be part of your day.  Congratulations!

Thanks to Laura Murray for the opportunity!
