A Snowy Granby Ranch Wedding | Sara & Nathan

Sara and Nathan chose January 1st at the charming Granby Ranch in Granby, Colorado to have their wedding celebration. They and their family and friends came all the way from Kansas City for the mountain wedding experience! I was thrilled to be going back to Granby after the summer wedding I was able to shoot there and couldn’t wait to be there for this snowy winter event.

Sara’s beautiful Gavin Michael’s gown was found at Natalie M. in Overland Park, Kansas.

True to snowy-ski-resort-bride style, Sara wore these fun Sorel snow boots for our trip up the mountain.

Her ceremony shoes were a lovely pop of something blue. On the left is the bride and groom’s rings plus a sweet gift for Nathan’s daughter, a ring with her birthstone in the center flanked by Sara and Nathan’s. A symbol of the new union for her to wear.

Nathan’s suit was by Jones New York.

Sara’s gorgeous bouquet was done by Margaret’s Garden. I couldn’t resist bringing it and her gown outside into this perfect snowy scene for a few minutes!

Sara and Nathan got ready at one of Granby’s charming lodges, the plentiful light was wonderful.

We chose to do their first look inside the lodge because it was oh, about zero degrees outside:

Then from the cozy lodge out into the sunny but zero degree day we went!

Granby’s main lift lets off at the top of the mountain where a gorgeous aspen grove, perfect for photos, awaits!

The view on the first day of 2013 looked like something out of a painting. Not a bad tradeoff for such low temperatures :)

They even braved the cold sans outer layers for a few photos!

A “keep me warm!” snuggly set.

I love how you can see Nathan’s breath, that hardly demonstrates just how intense the cold was!

Sara was a stunning classic beauty of a bride – and dedicated to these photos, too! Brr!

Sara and Nathan’s ceremony and dinner took place in the Alpine Club at Granby Ranch where the decor was dreamed up and created by Sara with the help of family and friends.

Beautiful burlap and lace runners topped with baby’s breath, pine cones and pillar candles made for a soft and cozy ambiance.

The ceremony was officiated by Leon Weece, pastor at the church where Sara grew up.

Nathan’s daughter was presented with the triple birthstone ring during the ceremony and she also helped the officiant with the exchange of rings for Nathan and Sara.

A first-of-the-year wedding – it’s a very romantic notion :)

Gary caught the new Mr. & Mrs. in their handshake after signing the marriage license :)

Someone was really enjoying her party dress :)

Rather than a traditional wedding cake the couple chose four cheesecakes from Granby’s own Ian’s Mountain Bakery.

Perfect for a chilly new year’s day, a hot chocolate station! My favorite.

Sara and Nathan, thank you for welcoming Gary and me into your lives and for having us document your new beginning! We so enjoyed our time with you and your families in Granby and wish you nothing but the very best.
