Santa Cruz Bed & Breakfast Wedding | Kevin & Jackie

Just before we moved away from California I had the opportunity to head north on Highway 101 to Santa Cruz to shoot a bed and breakfast wedding with Sarah McKenzie.  The trip was just breathtaking, and probably fed a good bit of my sadness in leaving California—the wedding was no different!  Tucked away up a winding road, Historic Sand Rock Farm bed and breakfast is such a charming little place.

Jackie and her girls came from hair and makeup to get dressed at the main house on the property and I was just delighted at the opportunities we had with light.I was also more than a little in love with the gorgeous pink peonies and Jackie’s halo engagement ring!

Kevin and Jackie’s ceremony was held at a local church with the Maid of Honor’s father as the officiant.Jackie’s grandfather walked her down the aisle. The song sung during the ceremony was so sweet, it definitely got to me!After the ceremony, the wedding party and guests headed to the bed and breakfast for the reception. The gorgeous florals for the entire event were arranged by the Maid of Honor and her father, isn’t that amazing?  They’re such happy flowers.  The reception was all outdoors in a beautiful clearing surrounded by trees.

The chess pieces are Kevin’s influence.  King and Queen for the day, for sure!
I loved that raspberries were floated in the sparkling cider.

After dinner and toasts, the guests were invited into what the Farm calls the Wine Cave for dancing.  It felt so enchanted and romantic. You know the dancing is good when the shoes come off! Jackie hand-made each and every one of the coasters that were used as favors.  What a project!
Heart luminaries lined the path to the reception area of Sand Rock Farm.
By the end of the night, the heat lamps were welcomed.

I so enjoyed being part of Kevin and Jackie’s biggest day and working with Sarah.  It was an enchanting event full of love and I wish the new Mr. and Mrs. all the best as they step into Happily Ever After!
