Broadmoor Bridal Show

I’ve been wanting to share this little post with you all for a while now! A few weeks ago Gary and I attended a lovely bridal show at the Broadmoor Resort here in Colorado Springs.  We met some wonderful local vendors including Mindi, owner of Something New Boutique who I got to spend an afternoon with a couple of weeks later as she personally assisted my friend Brandy in choosing her wedding gown! The boutique is so charming with dark wood floors, chandeliers . . . and of course, a lovely collection of gorgeous gowns.  I’d definitely recommend Something New to any Colorado Springs brides, Mindi even set us up to Skype with Brandy’s twin sister back east so she could get that approval for her final pick :)

We also met Julie and David Sandusky, owners of JS Design Custom in Denver, their letterpress table was truly inspiring. After a nice chat with David he gave us a little parting gift, this adorable wedding favor! It’s a tea bag full of the most wonderfully scented passion fruit loose tea with the caption “love is brewing…” I just love it:

There are so many spin-offs that can be done, I keep thinking of candied pecans for a southern wedding, with the caption “love is sweet” — what do you think? What other fillers/phrases could be done?

Gary and I also had the pleasure of meeting Sean Cayton, another local wedding photographer whose style and brand I really identify with, and finally — John of Design Works. One of the main reasons I wanted to attend the bridal show was to see Design Works’ setup and meet them and they did not disappoint. If you are looking for something different, special, unique, and utterly fabulous they are your team! We were too busy chatting with John for me to grab any photos of their work, but it took my breath away.

After it was all said and done we went out onto the Broadmoor grounds and played around photographing each other a bit and came out with these new portraits:

I kinda like ’em, but I guess I’m biased ;)

You may have noticed a new watermark on these images, I’m playing around with the design and would love your thoughts!

Happy April,

What a pleasure to meet you Erin! Thanks for showcasing the “Love is Brewing” Tea Favors. I love your extension of the theme. People are having fun with it. Julie even created a save the date recently for a bride based on seeing these at that day. There is a picture on js design right now. Love the photography of you and Gary and the watermark is very cool!
