A Colorado Springs Wedding | Sarah & Landon

Sarah and Landon were married here in Colorado Springs at the beautiful Shove Chapel on the campus of Colorado College downtown. Even living here for over a year now this was my first wedding actually *in* Colorado Springs! Their big day kicked off a crazy 2.5 weeks for Gary and me as we departed the next evening for the Dominican Republic to shoot our friends Brandy & Drew’s wedding followed by almost a week in Florida where we shot Tory & Kevin’s celebration and also enjoyed the most wonderful baby shower honoring our little guy who will be here before we know it! We’ve been back in Colorado for just over a week now and I’m still a little exhausted from the trip and what felt like a packed schedule but I’m so glad to be able to share this lovely wedding with you tonight.

Sarah and Landon are currently Austin dwellers but Landon grew up in the Springs and his family still lives here. The pair traveled here for their celebration and started their day getting ready at Colorado Springs’ newest and in my opinion most charming downtown hotel, the Mining Exchange by Wyndham Grand. Restored to feature original brick and with a very charming courtyard that we used for their first look, I loved their choice!

While I stayed with Sarah as she finished getting ready, Gary was capturing Landon in the lobby enjoying the grand piano and a scotch.

Downtown isn’t generally a very private place so I was thrilled to discover this little courtyard just behind and part of the hotel that is lighted in a European style and turned out to be perfect for their sweet first look.

Completed in 1931, Shove Memorial Chapel is on the campus of Colorado College downtown – it’s a gorgeous building inside and out and we were thrilled to get to shoot there!

These kind of doors and stone arches make me swoon on a normal day, add this bride and groom and I’m in Heaven!

A vintage Chevrolet was waiting for them at the Chapel – it was their getaway car from the ceremony and added to the wonderful nostalgic feel of the location.

Sarah and Landon’s pastors each officiated part of the ceremony.

Gary as the second shooter has more freedom to get creative throughout the day which is exactly what he did during the first kiss for the shot in the middle below!

The reception was held at a downtown restaurant called The Warehouse which has a similar feel to the Mining Exchange hotel with wood floors and exposed brick.

All in all it was an absolutely wonderful day that Gary and I were so glad to have been part of, we wish Landon and Sarah a lifetime of happiness!
