A long overdue update…

Well, it seems like I’ve been trying to break a record for longest streak without blogging and maybe I sort of have been! It’s been a REALLY big year. A few updates:

In August we finished packing up our home in Colorado Springs and set off toward the Pacific to get settled in our new location, El Segundo, California. We loved our home in Colorado and didn’t feel ready to leave but that’s Air Force life! We are learning to love California again (we lived in the state briefly a few years ago) and are really settling in as a new family of four.

That’s right, four! Last April we found out we were expecting baby #2! I’m happy to share here that our second son, Ethan, was born in January and is a sweet, smily, healthy chunk of a baby. His brother is adjusting well to the change and I can hardly believe we have TWO beautiful boys.

I’ve opened a store on Etsy! It’s called Erin Davenport Design and is a place where I can offer items I’ve designed for others to enjoy. It all started with our first son’s first birthday party and has continued to include items that can be used at other celebrations as well as in the home. It’s still quite small but is a fun creative outlet for me to indulge my love of fonts and design. I’ve toyed with the idea of sharing new items from the store on my business Facebook page as well as here – we shall see what unfolds.

Since our move I’ve taken a break from shooting professionally. I miss it! I miss weddings. I am really excited to work with California couples, venues and LIGHT again! I’m open to taking a very limited number of weddings in the coming months and am especially looking forward to being part of celebrations that are rustic, outdoor, gardeny, and most of all focus on the love story of the couple and the new family that is being created.

And because every post needs a photo:

That’s all for now – more to come!
