Style Me Pretty Feature

Head on over to Style Me Pretty to check out the feature!

Thanks again to Drew and Brandy for choosing us to capture their day! We loved being part of your heartfelt celebration at the beach.

Lots of love,

A long overdue update…

Well, it seems like I’ve been trying to break a record for longest streak without blogging and maybe I sort of have been! It’s been a REALLY big year. A few updates:

In August we finished packing up our home in Colorado Springs and set off toward the Pacific to get settled in our new location, El Segundo, California. We loved our home in Colorado and didn’t feel ready to leave but that’s Air Force life! We are learning to love California again (we lived in the state briefly a few years ago) and are really settling in as a new family of four.

That’s right, four! Last April we found out we were expecting baby #2! I’m happy to share here that our second son, Ethan, was born in January and is a sweet, smily, healthy chunk of a baby. His brother is adjusting well to the change and I can hardly believe we have TWO beautiful boys.

I’ve opened a store on Etsy! It’s called Erin Davenport Design and is a place where I can offer items I’ve designed for others to enjoy. It all started with our first son’s first birthday party and has continued to include items that can be used at other celebrations as well as in the home. It’s still quite small but is a fun creative outlet for me to indulge my love of fonts and design. I’ve toyed with the idea of sharing new items from the store on my business Facebook page as well as here – we shall see what unfolds.

Since our move I’ve taken a break from shooting professionally. I miss it! I miss weddings. I am really excited to work with California couples, venues and LIGHT again! I’m open to taking a very limited number of weddings in the coming months and am especially looking forward to being part of celebrations that are rustic, outdoor, gardeny, and most of all focus on the love story of the couple and the new family that is being created.

And because every post needs a photo:

That’s all for now – more to come!

A Granby Colorado Wedding | Samantha & Alex

Samantha and Alex’s Granby wedding took place on the 4th of July weekend at beautiful Granby Ranch in Colorado.  Though their rehearsal dinner on the fourth was doused in a heavy downpour of rain, the fireworks still went ahead and their outdoor wedding the next day had perfect weather, thank goodness! It was wonderful being part of their day – enjoy a few of my favorite images from it:

Samantha’s gorgeous gown is by Blush by Hailey Paige from Blue Bridal Boutique in Denver and her belt was “something borrowed” from her sister’s wedding :)

The florals for the day were done by Statice Floral. Sam’s bouquet was wrapped with delicate lace flowers that were part of a grandmother’s wedding ensemble.

The flower girl was given a special gift by Sam, a keepsake handkerchief for her to use on her own wedding day.

Samantha and Alex’s dog, Mr. Wilson, even attended the ceremony – in his wedding best, of course!

The bridesmaids dresses were JCrew – I am in love with the Dusty Shale color Sam chose.

A Summer Mountaintop Granby Wedding | Molly & Luke

Molly and Luke’s wedding day was a perfect celebration of their love on an equally beautiful summer Colorado day! Not one who ever wanted to get married, Luke’s presence in Molly’s life changed her mind and as soon as she told him so he didn’t miss a beat, proposing right then and there on one knee and everything! How romantic, right!? After only a few months of planning their big day went off without a hitch and was filled to the brim with love and shared with their closest friends and family.

Molly made her brooch bouquet as well as all the other decor. Impressive and beautiful!

Molly and her father as the last ones riding up mountain on their way to the ceremony:

There was worry it might rain that afternoon but the weather was absolutely beautiful and even enhanced by the clouds!

Molly’s gorgeous hair and makeup was done by Ilizabeth with Fraser Hair Company.

I am always blown away by the aspen grove at the top of the lift at Granby Ranch. It is one of the most beautiful settings for photographs!

Dessert was these fabulous little mini cupcakes by Denver’s Sugar Bakeshop in flavors like S’more, mmm!

Their first dance song was “Follow Me” by Muse. It was directly after seeing Muse in concert that Molly and Luke got engaged, so it’s very fitting!

Molly’s nephew decided he’d like to cut in during the first dance! Luke graciously let him ;)

The music for the evening was provided by Kyle with A Music Plus.

The photographs you see here on the blog are also ready to be viewed/shared/downloaded at Luke and Molly’s online PASS gallery which can be found here.

PASS is an awesome sharing tool that I’m thrilled to be including for my couples and clients going forward – I hope you enjoy using it!

Luke and Molly, thank you so much for having Gary and me with you on your biggest day! It was our pleasure to be part of it and to preserve these wonderful memories for you both. Wish wish you all the best!
